about

Paper Sailboat started with this album.

It took almost four years to make, and was created during one of the most tumultuous periods in my life. I set out to have a record that was worthy of being professionally mastered, though I was still trying to mix sound far better then I had before. There were many lessons learned, but after years of disappointment, I feel that the original master of this recording still captures a lot of the original intent. It was mastered here in Ottawa by a man named Tim Greencorn.

It is 'darker' than the later revisions, and there are a lot of mistakes in the mixing which I will not go in to. But overall it is about the feeling of the record, and if you're looking for a good dose of melancholy, you will certainly find it listening to this record.

Conceptually, In Blackout Cities takes place while a protagonist sleeps through the end of days. But perhaps, he/she/they were only dreaming.
